Dixon Gallery and Gardens—Fatima Hernandez, Week 3
Dixon Gallery and Gardens—Fatima Hernandez, Week 3
Buenas!
Another week, another remarkable experience I spent here at the Dixon! Lets dive into it—>
I can’t wait for my next story time!!
Monday
On Monday I worked on preparing the activity for the community night that was to be held in coming days at the Dixon. Using a cricut machine—after much instruction— I spent most of my time cutting out the figures. So far I had only cut around 50 of the 250 we needed.Tuesday
Wednesday
The task for Wednesday was to make thank you cards using stamps for volunteers who were arriving later in the day. Afterwards I went with Jorden to Target House, a facility that houses families of cancer patients, to set up an activity for those inside. This was one of the most valuable experiences I had and I could not express the gratitude I had that I was able to help.
Friday
Friday was by far the busiest day! I began by helping set up for the teacher professional development they were having at one which was a workshop that taught print making activities in varying levels for students. Afterwards, I helped clean out the closet, organizing buckets and throwing away or donating materials that they were not going to utilize any longer. I also worked with filling the paint tubes which unfortunately got some red on my white paints. No matter, although it was a busy day I had fun with the productive activities!
That’s all for now, until next time!!
