El Paso Museum of History – Andres Valle, Week 4
Hi everyone! Today was my last day at the El Paso Museum of History—it marks a bittersweet moment for me, as I go to say goodbye to some of the best people who I got to call friends. Let's get through this week!
Since it was my last week here, we collectively decided to enjoy the moments of tenderness and chill out with everything.
Like in my last post, I've been preparing to present my workshop at the library, so Monday I was preparing some more: finishing my presentation, zine, etc.
On Tuesday, I spent the first half talking to my supervisor, Nora, about my time at the internship and if I thought I did everything I'd like to do, e.g., community outreach, aiding with exhibits, etc., and of course, I said YES! The rest of the afternoon, I went to visit Centre Future, discussing more types of collaboration we could do in the future.
Wednesday came, and I spent the day reflecting on my time at the museum, and Nora helped me fix up my resume.
On Thursday, we threw a little celebration for my internship ending, especially since Nora wouldn't be in the office on Friday. They got my favorite dessert, we chatted, served chat (& face), and took pictures, and then the day quietly came to an end. They also told me the museum is built on a graveyard for the Confederate soldiers, and ghosts are scary, but RACIST ghosts are scarier.
I said goodbye and thanked everyone on my final day at the museum. I asked them to tell the next young ambassador they have very big shoes to fill.
WOWWW, time truly does fly. It's crazy to think a couple of weeks ago I was introducing myself to everyone, and now I'm saying goodbye. The museum has been a remarkable place to work at, and I am in awe every day I come into the office.
It been lovely writing!
The baddest signing out,
Andres Valle
