Griffin Museum of Science and Industry - Irene Frias, Week 4
Hi Everyone,
It has been an incredible honor to be apart of this program, and complete my practicum with an amazing team. I will forever be changed, inspired, and grounded by this experience as a whole. I was challenged in so many ways, with a variety of different projects and problems. I have learned a lot about myself through this, even motivating me to continue exploring STEM fields.
This week served as an extended goodbye, I focused mainly on compiling the work I have accomplished. The time invested in my symbol map paid off as management of the education department loved it, and will begin using the application for future data visualization means. For this I wrote directions on how I achieved the map on the application, and how to input data.
With that, I worked on designing a one pager for our Girls in STEM programming. As well as designing a bubble rocket to 3D print, which I actually able to print and the team will do test runs with it! I am looking forward to seeing the pictures of.
As the museum is in collaboration with the Lego Foundation, we pack Lego kits for our resource fairs and other events we take part in. I have helped pack over 200+ kits. It is a lengthy processes organizing and packing the kits. We were able to distribute these tickets at a Back to School Bash this Tuesday. It was mind blowing how quick 200 kits could be given away.
Part of my last day in the office, I attended an escape the museum event with my team. As part of the re-release of this popular event, they host a employee screening. So, it was amazing running around the museum solving puzzles and brain teasers.
